Dr. Nikhil Gokhale graduated in medicine from the prestigious G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai in 2012, with multiple distinctions and a Gold Medal in Surgery. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery (M.S. Orth) from the same institution in 2015. He then trained in UK (in the NHS) from 2016-2021 gaining sub-specialty experience in Shoulder and Knee surgery.

Whilst in the UK, Dr. Gokhale has completed the prestigious Exeter Knee Fellowship (2019), highly specialised training in Revision Joint Replacement Surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital- Stanmore (2019-2020), and a year-long Shoulder Fellowship at Royal Bournemouth Hospital (2020-2021). He is a Member and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS Ed), FRCSEd(Tr&Orth) and a has Diploma in Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Systems (Dip. CAOS) from Glasgow.

Since graduating in 2011, he has cumulative experience of more than 2500 operations and procedures. He has special interest and expertise in treating problems of the Shoulder and Knee (Open and arthroscopic key-hole surgery). He is trained in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, navigation and use of robotics(MAKO) for knee replacement.

Dr. Gokhale uses treatment strategies which are evidence based and is actively involved in research. He has published and presented at National and Inter-national level. Some of his research areas include patellar resurfacing in knee replacement, multi-ligament knee injuries, meniscal repair techniques, frozen shoulder treatment strategies, outcomes of shoulder resurfacing surgery, outcomes of distal-biceps tendon reconstruction.
